He was sure skittish, and wasn’t prone to makin’ friends, but he finally started trusting me enough to let me pet his head. [...]

The one’s who are responsible for his condition, have taken Socks to a secluded ranch to hide his condition.

Got medicine for Socks…finally.

Yesterday the Deputy Sheriff came to take pictures of socks. He used a flash, which didn’t sit well with Socks.

Socks. Once as grand and majestic as any fairy tale, this horse has been reduced to skin, bones, and mere salvage. His owners passed away, and the trash that has him now, won’t take care of him.
