Socks is Dead
Socks. That beautiful, sorrowful, sad creature. I miss him greatly already. He was diagnosed with advanced cancer of the penis and the vet recommended he be put down. It’s tragic really. Had they known or had they paid any attention, Socks would not have suffered for so long. He was dying a slow and very painful death and no one cared, no one fed him, no one eased his pain.
They were to put him down last week. God bless him. May his days always be sunny and his pastures green.
No Justice For Socks
A quick visit to the vets office yesterday provided the much dreaded news that Socks had been taken from the property and hidden from my prying eyes. Today, January 18, 2005 the vet will examine Socks and provide the Sheriff with his report. In the meantime the woman partly responsible for his condition will take him home with her.
Day Three – Socks
I went to Jacksboro yesterday and spoke with Dr. Paul Lillard of Jacksboro Veterinary Clinic. He knew Hoot, and he knew Socks and I thought he was going to literally fall on the floor when I showed him the pictures. He immediately ran and got me some antibiotics and said he would order some more and that Socks’ condition was an emergency situation. Read the rest of this entry »
